First Nations Art is a nonprofit tax exempt organization designated 501(c)(3) by the IRS. First Nations Art was formed for the purpose of assisting Native American Indian artists. To accomplish this goal, FNA has produced several art events in Florida and New Mexico as well as publishing The Native American Indian Artist Directory. The Directory, currently out of print, is being revised and expanded with a target date for publishing the new edition sometime in 2006. The past
edition contained more than 2,000 entries, listing artists by name, tribal
affiliation, type of artwork, brief description of the work, address, phone
number, email and website if available and other contact information.First Nations Art has no art events scheduled for the foreseeable future, with all attention being paid to producing the new directory. The goal of the directory will be to locate as many native artists as possible and provide as much contact information for them as they may wish to include. This will enable interested parties to contact the artists directly and provide a wonderful personal experience for those desiring to purchase an authentic, native made piece of art. Because First Nations Art is a nonprofit organization with limited funding, a few selected pieces of fine native art will be offered on this site for sale to the public. These pieces will all be guaranteed authentic by First Nations Art and will be sold at prices below typical gallery retail. Funds from these sales will be used in the furtherance of the goals of First Nations Art. A new fund raising project of First Nations Art is a series of travel writing seminars to be held around the U.S. The seminar leader is currently traveling around the globe and meeting indigenous artists and craftspeople in need of assistance. In addition to the seminars which will help prospective travel writers learn about publishing their writing and assist them in developing stories based on indigenous art as well as other aspects of travel, individual pieces of art will be purchased directly from the artists and placed on this site for sale at a price that will cover the initial purchase price and costs involved in placing it for sale. Your purchase will be as direct as possible from the artist to you short of your visiting the artist personally. Purchases are secure through PayPal. Your information is used only for the transaction. |
